“Peace be with you” was the greeting that Jesus repeated time and again after His resurrection. Peace is a fruit of His resurrection and reflects the dream of Jesus for all of us. At every Eucharist we are sent forth to live the peacemaking mission of Jesus.
The peace that Jesus wants to give us is not simply the absence of conflict, but an inner calm that helps us move through the heartaches of life. You and I may not be able to end world conflicts, but we can do something to bring justice, acceptance, forgiveness and reconciliation into our lives, our relationships and our society. In the US Bishops’ Pastoral Letter (1983) we read, “Peacemaking is not an otional commitment. It is a requirement of our faith.” The peace which Jesus speaks of is not something we achiece on our own: It is a gift from God. m I willing to take a rish for peace in the present circumstances of my life?
Join us at King’s House as we rediscover the dream of Jesus that all of us become instruments of His peace in our world. “Blessed are the Peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.” (Mt. 5:9)

Directed Retreat

King’s House will again offer a 6-day directed retreat. Each day, besides the celebration of the Eucharist, the retreatant meets with a director to talk about his or her personal journey and experience of God. The rest of the time is spent in solitude and silence relaxing, praying, reading and reflecting. In the extended time of quiet, one often moves into a deeper listening to God and awareness of God’s presence and action in life. The experience can clarify your dreams, purify your ambitions, expose your foolishness and refresh your life.

A directed retreat enables people to spend uninterrupted hours exploring the movement of God in their lives. The spiritual directors are companions, helping retreatants enter into this spiritual journey and listen to their hearts with new openness to God’s will. It calls for receptivity to the movements of God’s Spirit and capacity and willingness to discuss one’s prayer with the director. The director gives guidance for prayer in response to your individual needs, making suggestions from scripture or other resources that may be helpful.

Directors: Fr. Jim Deegan, OMI, Sr. Joanne Dehmer, SSND,
Sr. Brenda Rose Szegedy, OSF, Fr. Ron LaFramboise, OMI,
and Fr. Lon Konold, OMI. (Closer to the retreat, applicants will be sent a questionnaire and response form to gather information for making the decision about your director.)

Registration begins: Tuesday, July 1st at 3:00pm
Retreat concludes: Tuesday, July 8th at 10:00am

Suggested Offering: $475.00 – A non-refundable deposit of $50.00 is required to reserve a space.
